Western-style Teppanyaki
Image
Recently I've been thinking about sharing a meal I really love making. It might seem like it involves a lot of preparation, but every step is actually quite short. The recipe is for Teppanyaki grilled salmon, steak and turkey, marinated in Teriyaki sauce - eaten with wasabi mayonaise. This goes with a side of grilled onions and garlic in soy sauce, and finally Japanese sweet omelette. For this recipe, you will need a grill of course (preferably a Teppanyaki grill, but any will do).

Kale and Mashed Potatoes with Smoked Sauage
Image
Today I wanted to show you something from my home country that I really enjoy. It's a winter dish that's just classically Dutch, I dare say it might even be a very iconic national food. Although you may find it slightly weird. You see, the Dutch have a tendency of throwing all their food together and mashing it before eating it.

Chicken Curry
Image
There are many styles of chicken curry: Indian, Thai, Western and Vietnamese styles. The Vietnamese style is more like a soup because it has more water and is less spicy than Indian and Thai curry. My recipe is Vietnamese style except I used less water. You can eat curry alone, or with bread, rice or noodles.

Grilled Pork Chop with Rice
Image
This is a specialty of Saigon where I was born. It's called “Cơm Tấm" in Vietnamese. A complete dish has more ingredients than what I make here, but this is already more than enough and very quick to make. It only took me about 30 minutes to prepare, so it's a perfect choice for busy weekdays.

Spring Rolls (Chả giò)
Image
Today we had a friend from the West who really likes spring rolls, so we decided to show him how to make spring rolls. This is also our first entry so I would like to introduce a little bit about us: We are from two different sides of the world. We create this page to share our love for cooking with each other and with our loved ones. But the main focus of this page is food, not us! So, enjoy reading and hope you find it useful! Spring roll is a very popular Vietnamese dish which comes in a number of varieties. Today we made a traditional one with simple ingredients and recipe.

Seaweed Beef Soup
Image
It took me about 30 minutes to prepare seaweed soup. Seaweed is very good for your health. One bowl of seaweed soup every day helps your body resist allergens. It also stops your body from absorbing fat. Good news for those who want to lose weight hah? :)

Chicken Pesto Tortelloni
Image
Hey everyone! I'll be sharing many Western dishes that I have been enjoying over the years, and also attempt to make and document new things in time. For my first recipe, I wanted to share something that is pretty simple to make and tastes great. The combination of chicken and green pesto is one that I personally really love, and even though it fits in many different dishes, today I will be using it as a sauce for tortelloni. Tortelloni is the larger version of tortellini pasta, and it usually has a filling like ham and cheese.

Wonton Noodle Soup & Crispy Wonton
Image
Wonton noodle soup would be great for a rainy day when you want to have something warm, tender and yummy. This is my first time trying to make wonton noodle soup so it took longer than I expected. I'm sorry that I didn't take photos of all the steps this time because I was a bit worried about the outcome. However, it was so delicious that I think I'll try to make it again despite the lengthy process :))
